Applicable to
- Twingate Component: Client
- Platform: Linux
- OS: Fedora Linux 40 (encrypted)
Overview
After successfully installing the Twingate Client on a freshly installed and encrypted Fedora 40 system, the Client does not start. It is important to understand in this context that by default, this version of Fedora will be encrypted.
Cause
There is a known incompatibility of the Twingate Client with openssl version 3.2.1, which was introduced in Fedora 40.
Workaround
This has been reported to our developer team and we are looking into potential solution.
At this time, the only known workaround is downgrading to the openssl version 3.1.1 from Fedora 39, the command will be:
sudo dnf downgrade --releasever=39 openssl-libs
