- Twingate Component: Client
- 3rd Party: Avast: Real Site Protection
Overview
We do our best to make our software compatible with most products and services that are used in the corporate environment. However, some products are not compatible at this time, generally because they are trying to use the same system functionality that we require for operation.
Real Site is a feature included in Avast Premium Security that protects you against DNS (Domain Name System) hijacking to ensure you get to the actual website you want to visit. Real Site provides an encrypted connection between your web browser and Avast's own DNS server to prevent hijacking.
Due to conflicts around DNS resolution, Avast: Real Site Protection is currently incompatible. If both Twingate and Avast: Real Site Protection are configured, the Twingate client will not be able to access protected resources by FQDN.
Resolution
Avast by itself should be ok to use but the Real Site Protection setting will need to be disabled for the Twingate client to function properly.
